How to Astral Project

Astral Projection

What is Astral Projection?

Astral projection, also known as Out of Body Experience refers to leaving your body via meditation or sleep in order to explore the world without the limitations that come with having a physical body, and it's more common than you might think. Studies show that nearly 10 percent of the world's population has experienced an out of body experience at least once in their lifetime. This means that about 700 million people have had at least one out of body experience.

Things you can do while having an OBE (Out of Body Experience)

When you astral project you can really do anything! You can go through walls, fly, go to space, go to the moon, visit alternate dimensions, and so much more. The only limit in the astral is yourself.

There are cases where people experience things that cannot be explained with our current understanding of consciousness. People who are blind who experience an OBE claim that they could actually see in the astral. Some people see colors in the astral that do not exist in the physical world. This just goes to show how much there is to explore in this new world of understanding.

How To Astral Project.

For the past year, I have dedicated a large chunk of my life to exploring this phenomenon. I have tried various methods and decided to only believe the experiences I have had and use others' experiences as a guideline. I have developed my own method that works best for me. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands of methods for astral projection, but the method I am going to tell you is fine-tuned so that you can have an OBE as soon as possible with the least amount of effort and practice.

Keep in mind, the method I am about to mention is a Frankenstein's monster mixup of various methods. Also, I am not going to explain how every aspect of the technique works. I will create blogs in the future explaining every aspect. I've picked and chosen the best aspects of many techniques.

My Fine Tuned Astral Projection Method.

Step 1: Wake back to bed

Set an alarm for 5 to 6 hours after you've gone to bed at night. Then, go to sleep normally.

                                           Step 2: Get up!

When the alarm wakes you up, get up and walk around. Use the bathroom and drink some water if you need to. Just get out of bed and do something for 10 to 15 minutes.

  Step 3: Corpse pose

Lay on your back in the corpse pose with your arms to your side and your eyes closed.

Step 4: Maintain awareness

While you are laying on your back, you need to maintain focus and awareness so that you do not fall back asleep, a great way i maintain awareness is by focusing on various body parts. I start from my feet and go up. Example: Focus on your feet, relax your feet as much as you can for 20 seconds, then move up to your ankle, then your calf, etc until you reach the top of your head. Then start making your way down.

Step 5: Relaaaaax

After a while, if you have not fallen asleep, you will start shifting into either a very relaxed state of being. At that point you want to try to relax further, you will need to let go of any worries or expectations. You will also need to start loosening your grasp of conscious thought. That is, let your thoughts start to drift a little bit but do not completely let them wander. Relax further.

 Step 6: Hypnagogic state

Eventually, you will enter the beginning stages of the Hypnagogic State. In the early stages of hypnagogia, your mind will start wandering and will be dreamlike. From this point forward you need to be very, very careful because you can fall asleep at any moment. You will also start seeing various shapes and patterns behind your closed eyelids.

       Step 7: Hallucinations

The hypnagogic state will increase, At this point, you will essentially be hallucinating, which can be very scary for a beginner and is a giant barrier for many people. This fear prevents thousands of people from successful ap. Some call it a natural barrier to prevent those who are not ready for astral projection from having an out of body experience. You will likely be seeing vivid imagery, hearing strange noises, and feeling strange things. It is important at this point to keep your cool.

I have created some sound files of things that I have heard while in the hypnagogic state here. I recommend listening to them to know what to expect when in the hypnagogic state. I also recommend starting from the bottom of the list and going up.

At this point also, you may enter the vibrational stage. This is very common with people who are trying to astral project intentionally. It is called the vibrational stage because it feels like every cell in your body is violently vibrating. You will not mistake it, it will be very obvious.

    Step 8: Exit method

Do an exit method for full projection. If you are experiencing the hypnagogic state then you need to immediately do an exit method. The most popular methods are the rope method and the rollover method. A quick google search will bring up hundreds of exit methods for Astral Projection. Here's a good website I found that includes a variety of functional methods.

Also, Throughout this entire meditation from step 1 to 8, you want to use positive affirmations such as "My mind is ready for astral projection" or "I am leaving my body". This is priming your subconscious mind to work with you to accomplish your goal of successful projection. here's a list of positive affirmations.

After the exit method, you should either be outside of your body or back in your body back to normal. If you fail, just keep trying. It is not uncommon for someone to fail many many times before they succeed. Remember, Thomas Edison failed 1,000 times before inventing the light bulb. Something to keep in mind, however, is that if you don't think you will astral project you definitely will not. You may fail a couple of times before success, but if you expect to fail a couple of times then you will. That is why positive affirmations are so important.

If you fell asleep

If you fall asleep during this process, you can still astral project. You will be relying on your affirmations prior to falling asleep. Falling asleep and astral projecting from the dream is also a valid method for projection. You just have to become aware of the dream and project from there. A popular method for projecting from a dream is jumping from a high surface and hitting the ground into projection. Just make sure you are actually dreaming before you do this.

If you are laying on your back and you are not getting more and more relaxed (this is very common, and happened to me all the time) I have found that you can simply roll over and further relax. Just keep in mind that you can fall asleep very easily this way, even though it feels like you will not fall asleep. Also, the side you lay on can affect the success rate of your projection. Experiment with laying on your right and left sides and use whichever you find to be more successful. For whatever reason, when I lay on my left side, I tend to astral project more often.

If you are serious about astral projection, I recommend reading as much as you can on it. I highly recommend the book Astral Dynamics by Robert Bruce and Robert Monroe's Journeys trilogy.

Just remember to NEVER GIVE UP!

Things that may happen when attempting astral projection.

A variety of things can happen, I will name a few:
You may see through your eyelids, you may get sleep paralysis, you may hear your name being called, you may hear a loud bang, you will likely hear a jet engine roaring, you may hear a high pitched ringing, you may get visions, you may even end up somewhere random, like above your house or in the street. I ended up in a store stockroom once.

And finally... KEEP A JOURNAL!!!

Write in a journal!!! You will immediately forget everything you experienced if you do not write it down. Even if you do not fully astral project, having the experience on paper will show you that you are at least making progress. You can forget an entire astral projection experience simply because you decided to not write anything down. Do not make this mistake, write everything down in as much detail as you can. If you cannot remember much, simply write what you remember.
